Can IT track NAT devices on the network?

I'm up to no good,

Can IT track a computer or phone, that is connected to a router with its WAN port connected to the network?

or

Can IT track a phone, connected to the virtualAP on the computer connected to the network?

Phone will have a seperate IP than the PC on the network?

 

IP phones should have its own IP address.

 

Not IP phone, but smartphone connected to PC's NAT VirtualWiFi.

 

Yes, it can be tracked because it will have its own IP address, and the router will note its MAC address as well.

 

Network - PC (10.8.x.x) via LAN - Phone (169.x.x.x) via VirtualAP/VirtualWiFi from the PC.

The PC is acting like a NAT.

IT will see the traffic as if it's coming from the PC that's acting as the NAT gateway. The IP would not be recorded by the network's router since it's not serving your phone directly.

But if IT starts sniffing the TCP data packets to/from your phone, they can eventually trace it to your device. There are multiple techniques and tools to do that. example:- Detecting NAT Devices using sFlow
