Warm season and water cuts!

Due to all that very warm season, I'm down with a flu, and bringing down my another sibling with the same flu. I'm hearing that there's water rationing in Selangor state too.

Right now I'm lying down and doing nothing until the flu goes away, and hoping the rain will come soon. :faint:

The weather has got to be the warmest since 1998!

LOL! I was talking about this with strawroot the other day, we don't mind trading! :haha:

I was cycling in the woods again today, and the land is so dry, and dried leaves are all over the ground, very little grip.

Trin, I don't think you want what we have over here. It's not tropical hot.. it's CRAZY HOT over here... :(

As The_YongGrand pointed out, there's a water rationing exercise throughout much of the state this month. And if the rains don't come by the end of the month, the water rationing exercise is going to extend to even more areas. Two days on, two days off. Some places have already gone without water for what 15-20 days?? Crazy weather... :(

I'm not saying that sub-zero temperatures are fun but I think I will take that over having no water. LOL! :D

Feels right out of a Mad Max movie right now, with all the haze and water cuts.

BTW practically it's not 2d water 2d no water, it's more like 2.5d no water, 1.5d water. Because the cuts are scheduled to start at 9am, and then come back at 4:30pm 2 days later.

Well, only certain parts of the state, mainly because of ammonia contamination of the river supplying the water treatment plant in that area. They are getting supplied via water tankers while they clean up the river.

But this has been further compounded by the lack of rain since January, so the dams are running low. That's why other areas are now undergoing water rationing.

They seeded the clouds this evening, so there was some rain... Didn't last long though... :(

WOW... -20C is REALLY COLD...

So I guess you are stuck at home? Can't really go out in such weather.

I have got a few days off of work because of snow. That's the only reason I go out besides the bank and food store. It is the driving through it and cleaning it up that really sucks! Man I'm so sick of this winter.

We get a heatwave like yours one or twice a summer here. Truely sucks when I have to work, no AC!:faint: When I'm home it's not as bad. As long as my ac keeps working.

No water would really suck! We can take it for granted here, Great Lakes and all...:)

If the hot weather and low water levels at the state dams aren't bad enough, a construction company hit a major pipe 2-3 weeks ago, causing a massive flood in the area which further depleted water resources... :wall:

Check out this picture of the flood. I actually live right next door. Thanks to the damage to this major pipe, water supply was knocked out to a wide area for several days.

    Wow!

We had had some water main breaks here as well, It all gets out and turns to ice! Damn tricky to drive around!

  14. Adrian Wong

Adrian Wong Da Boss Staff Member

Well, it isn't really "massive" because we do get pretty massive floods. It's just surprisingly massive because it all came from one single pipe. LOL...

The water rationing is crap. Yesterday and today we were supposed to have water but it keeps coming on and off intermittently. Have to refill the tanks and stock up on drinking water the moment water comes, otherwise it could be gone within the next hour.

Tomorrow will be another two days without water.

  16. Chai

    Chai Administrator Staff Member

And I heard that the water is not usable when it started resuming, so you have to wait awhile before the water comes out is clean.

  17. Adrian Wong

Adrian Wong Da Boss Staff Member

    That bad???

I think it's partly because everyone's tanks are dry so the water pressure takes a while to build up. Whatever's released goes into someone's tank until it's full.

Man, what a waste of a perfectly fine gallons of water. Many years back I saw a huge fountain (3-storey high) from a broken water pipe near the secondary school I was inside. Took 3 hours to fix the damage. :faint:

That place's in Ikano? It looks really familiar.

  19. Adrian Wong

Adrian Wong Da Boss Staff Member

Yup! That's IPC, which used to be known as Ikano Power Center, right next to IKEA.

SYABAS has just announced that my area (right there) will experience water rationing starting Monday. Two days off, and two days on, until the end of the month. :(

  20. The_YongGrand

    The_YongGrand Just Started

Oh shit, that's gonna be very difficult. Hope you are coping up with this well. My area's not affected, but that's not an excuse to waste water as the supply's plummeting.

On the picture again, that pile-driving must be for the latest monorail project, isn't it?
