In our cultures, we are not encouraged to "take up arts" too much because "it will sideline our formal education", or in other words, affect our quality of acquiring knowledge. However, this is not true as some researchers have seen links on highly successful scientists/researchers and their exposures on their artistic pursuits as well. It is known that learning arts can help complement the research if done normally.
