This is a comparison between Sandisk Ultra 3D NAND 500GB, ADATA SX8200 Pro 512GB on my onboard motherboard port (PCIE 2.0 4x), and SX8200 Pro on the PCIE 3.0 4x adapter card.

There's a huge boost in sequential performance of the drive, so if you don't have a recent motherboard with PCIE 3.0 4x M.2 port, this adapter card is highly recommended.

SSDs have gotten pretty cheap now, saw a 1TB at Thundermatch Mid Valley for around RM600 (forgot the brand)... Western Digital 1TB were going for below RM1000. Can't wait for 2TB to become readily available and commonplace...

Even the decent Sandisk Ultra 3D SSD 1TB is just RM587 from Shopee. Excellent value IMO. WD Black is a good drive, but can't beat the ADATA for price, plus it also uses Micron NAND chips.

My turn for SSD. Added an extra 1TB to my Thinkpad. Couple of brands that I could pick, decided to just get the WD Blue. It's just for data access/storage, no need for a high performance drive.

Wow. Those SSD prices are dirt cheap.

Got this myself recently. Going for S$187 on Qoo10 so I grabbed one. [IMG]

Finally got myself a proper monitor. Got the LG 27UD88-W that’s supposed to have factory-calibrated colour. Can’t confirm without a colour calibration hardware but out of the box sRGB mode looks good. [IMG]

It's cheaper than THE stand too! :haha:

True. Haha. But reality is also that most of these monitor stands including this one for this LG I got don’t hold the monitor well. It still shakes whenever I touch the my table which is actually a pretty sturdy one. So I don’t necessarily diss an expensive stand as I really wish most monitors actually do come with a proper stand. But if course, not at $1K as I don’t think it needs to be CNCed out of a single block of aluminium too LOL. #notthatrich

The only way I'd pay that much for a stand is if it's called Star Platinum.
