Well, this is the 7th time my Altis battery kong d within the past 6 months... Just so that you'll understand, Japanese or Korean car has it's own weaknesses too... Hyundai car's spare parts come from Toyota, so the parts are ****ing expensive. Kia car, hmm, no comments, never tried it b4, but I personally think that korean car has no 2nd hand value at all. Whenever they start feeling the pressure from the Sales team, they'll just decrease their price. After all, market share is the only 1 thing that matters to them. Can you imagine if u are a happy owner of a Hyundai Matrix 1 year ago where u bought your 1.6 Matrix at 89k??? What's the price of a 1.6 Matrix now? Anyone? 2 years ago I believe 1.6 Matrix was above 100k, but I'm not too sure about the exact figures. Anyone remember Kia Karnival was selling for 180++K back then? How much is the 'NEW' KIA Rio? 98k? Same for KIA Caren, 125k++ for a new car 2 years ago, how much is the latest KIA Caren? Anyone? Japanese car on the other hand, lack local specialist. If it's just simple oil filter change, etc, they'll happily change it for ya, quick $$$$ after all, isn't it? However, IF you have a problem, 1 that requires technical expertise and thorough understanding of the entire car system to be able to diagnosis the problem, you'll find yourself in a situation where the whole japanese nation is telling you that out of 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%of the people on this planet that would have this problem, unfortunately, you are the 'Chosen' ONE. If you haven't 'witness' the 'capability' of VIOS, go to any Toyota service center that does repairing for Toyota cars involved in accident. You'll be amaze on how many disc-brake that were broken..... Now do you rather it's your power-window that is broken 10x a year or a broken disc-brake during the 1 time accident that you were unfortunate enough to get involved in? Toyota's bragging about 'Excellent' quality is what lure me to my existing car, and yet, I would really say that I'm ****ing annoyed with all these problems coming up from their 'SUPERB' quality. Should have bought a CR-V instead... ****ing regreting now......

CRV .. .. my dad owns one .. no problem so far :thumbs: althought its locally assembled.. just some minor tweaks and the car is back as new dun really like the throttling system though .. speaking of toyota .. in the mid 90s .. all my uncles had Toyotas .. my dad was the odd one having a Honda guess what .. .. now non of them is driving a toyota .. except my singapore uncle to tell you the truth .. i seen alot of VIOS & Altis involved in highway accidents .. (spun out .. etc etc ..)
Well... I've seen many Protons and Produa in accidents too. That day just saw a brand new Myvi involved in an accident with a motorcycle. Sure is unlucky that Myvi driver...
It's not the car that causes the accident all the time, it's usually the driver behind the wheel causing them.
its the driver who thinks their car are capable of doing stunts .. thats the problem .. they dont know whats ABS,TSC,ASC/ESP/DSC/whatever for in the first place
That's exactly my point... But that Myvi was knocked by a motorcycle from behind. What a "great" start for the day... Anyway, what car colour is recommended? I like black, but one day only... all dust. Sad...
dark colors look nice.. but .. dust are easily visible & at night .. not really good .. (my friends dark green civic had been knocked several times ) silver is very common .. but dust are not so visible .. satellite silver .. not so visible (kind of like slightly goldish silver )
Get a white or silver car, and then respray it to Champion Yellow (NSX style) or HOT Pink(This color will match with your Pink Folder!).
It's certainly enlightening to hear about the reliability of Korean and Jap cars. I didn't know the Vios was plagued with so much trouble. But I do know that Korean cars have very little resale value. Then again, resale value is always about perception. I agree - no vehicle is perfect. There is bound to be some kind of problem or quirk in each vehicle. However, I do believe Proton is special in a certain way. Their distributors have become so arrogant that they are the only ones I know who do not deliver their cars as ordered. My family has purchased many Proton cars over the years. And at least two did not come in the colour/configuration we wanted. That includes the recent Wira my father bought. He ordered one colour and got the car in another colour. But did we have a choice? No. The salesmen always told us to take it or bugger off. If we wanted the colour in the exact colour/configuration, then they will put us on the list again - that means waiting several more months before a new car is available... and that's no guarantee they will even give us a car that meets our order. That's Proton - the pride of the nation. Ptui!
I hv been changing cars almost every 2-3 years, lost count of how many i hv actually changed( also how much money u lost). If u hv read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" car is a liability, from the monent you take deliver of ur car, that car would depreciating. After 3 years that car probably worth only half the original value. So if u r starting up the best is go for something that wont tide u down !If u stretch ur budget too far, u would find that u going stuck in another vicious circle in a few years time. I think the best is go for new car as 2nd hand car after a few years u start going to hv "minor ailment" coming, follow by major repairs ! so my choice is Kelisa ! the money u saved u can put into ur assest ! when ur assest start making money for u , u can then buy any car u want . That is in theory, for most ppl when u see someone drive a "siok" car passing by, u would start thinking going to the showroom !
Haha.. Rich Dad, Poor Dad. It does have its good points, although I daresay many people and some organizations have twisted that concept somewhat for their own purposes. But talking about cars... the good thing about getting a second hand car is that it automatically gives you a big discount, especially if you are getting a car that has low second hand value. On the other hand, yeah, it may be plagued by mechanical problems and you may end up losing even more money.
er. Myvi rulez. Savvy sux. i personally went to see Myvi at Sunway after Go Kart. then later inspected Savvy. then went back to thorough test Myvi - MYVI wins hands down. only thing about the Savvy i like is the dashboard. which is better than Myvi. and why must she get sedan? i myself considering trade in my Satria (94/95 model 1.3 manual) for a Myvi (1.0 Manual).
No idea. She just prefers a sedan, I guess. But after her exams, I will take her to check out Myvi as well as the Savvy. But I think she's leaning more towards the Kia Spectra or a second-hand Jap car.
