    I'm not. :snooty:

I'm currently on an ultra-tight budget after buying all that stuff plus my house. :wall:

Rich, no. I am far from it. I spent all my extra money and some savings on the speakers and sound card. I didn't go into debt, but I can't do anything until next month, at least.

^ I nearly got one of those. I wanted a CM Aerogate II but the retailer was out of stock so they offered me one at the same price as the Aerogate (A$55, Gatewatch regular price is $69). It was a pretty good deal but I'll wait for the Aerogate - I think it looks nicer and it doesn't take up 2 drive bays :p
Regardless, it's a nice toy :thumb:

But I'm already thinking 'bout to remove the Aero, 'cause somehow I feel like it looks like some overdo.

    why not ?
dvd burners are now cheaper .. i think its possible to get one @ $50 USD :p

i got my burner around february i think at RM300 ($79 USD) DRU-710A

but i dont see this DRU-800A model here yet on sonyonline its $100 USD (RM380)
    we only see the DRU-710A replaced by DRU-720A @ ~RM 250 ($66 USD)

for me i go with retail products with 1 year warranty
unless you wanna try the risk of getting OEM products with 3 or maybe 1 month warranty .. (or no warranty)

    bestia,

i jus love the gatewatch..im watching in envy :shifty:

can it control high power fans well?

    Bestia(ry) Mac'ster

    Dunno. ^^
'Cause of the BTX-style-rig, there are only big fans with just max. 1200 RPM needed, I dun know how it would act with some high-powered ones.
My sys is not even getting hot enough for the HSF Silent4 Ultra to spin up significantly.

just broke the 1 Terrabyte mark

today i went out and picked up 2 x 250GB samsung spinpoint 250GB HDs. my old 3 x 160GB got filled up already...

updated my D Rig stats. i've now got the 2 x 250s running through the native IDE master channel and the set up 2 of the old 160s in a RAID-1 array for backing stuff up.

my download box aria is also full, so i slipped the remaining 160GB into the download box to go with the existing 120GB already in there. got a spare 80GB WD lying around for testing and leeching, throw that in the total comes to 1180GB

gave them a quick benchmark and the HDs are nice and quick. sandra reported 60MB/s
pretty pleased with the purchase. *looks at wallet* great i'm broke again

pix (yep... i like samsung drives)

Err.. Why do you need so many hard disks?? :wicked:

  20. Mike

    Mike Newbie

i'll leave that to ur imagination? :wicked:

nah, i always put everything on hard disks instead of storing them on CDs/DVDs. 200+ movies, 3000+ songs, 50+ series of anime, uncompressed digi photos and lots of games (ISO or just whole directories). lastly, a little bit of ....

all that added up takes up a supprising amount of space. having them all on hard drives means if a hard drive fails = gone. so i make sure everything has a 2nd copy somewhere.
