I am looking to get a stick of 512mb of ram. Right now i have 256mb PC2100. There is a sale at staples but the ram is PC3200. How do I find out if my mobo will support PC3200?

Your mobo will support upto PC9999 if there's such a thing. It doesn't matter.

1.) Read the motherboard's manual book.

2.) Go to the motherboard's website and look for the compatibility.

    hope that helps. :D

I got about 70 bucks for my birthday and I have a question. I am getting ram from newegg.com. Should I get 512mb of ram thats worth 58 bucks, which means it's pretty fast (from corsair.) Or should I get inexpensive 1gb of ram worth 68 bucks.

What brand is the 1GB RAM and what's the speed? What's the speed of the 512MB?

Who cares, I would go for the 1GB REGARDLESS of the brand.
