Yup, but news about anyone from our country often times reach home. Especially news like this. I'm not sure if that news is accurate, though. The only recent news about a Filipina who was jailed in Saudi were for different reasons.
Well now, isn't this a sign for tourists: Don't try to get it on with the maid! Ouch, I feel bad for that guy...but I imagine he was a little forceful in his approach towards this woman, maybe borderline on rape attempt? If not, than stay away from that woman!

Errr.. Shouldn't they arrest the guy??? I think it's a clear case of self-defence. The maid should not be jailed.
The sad fact of my country is that because alot of my countrymen (and women) are just above the poverty line. Most, if not all, choose to work overseas as helpers because it actually pays better than getting a job here. And I know because there are alot of Filipinos everywhere (Riyadh in this case), that have been subjected to all sorts of maltreatment. This particular incident is only one out of so many.
