oh? i was thinking of the Asus P5B-MX/WiFi-AP. Might consider that one rather than the intel one...

I have decided for a few thing already till now:

    -Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.8GHz
    -Asus P5B-MX/WiFi-AP
    -1 GB Kingston or Cosair DDR2 667 (x2)
-160/250 GB SATA II (Seagate or Maxtor)
    -Asus 7600GT 256MB
    -DVD-RW (Asus or Imation)
    -Logitech Keyboard + Mouse
    -19" Samsung 932B Plus
    -Windows XP Home

That's all so far... and btw, i'm more interested to look for Asus 19" LCD Monitor... but then cannot find any lah... There's one with a sub-woofer behind the screen which is way over my budget. Anyone knows where to get it?

Why are you spending so much on an expensive motherboard, even if you want, at least settle for Asus P5N-E, I think Adrian Wong still has it, you can contact him, and get E6420, as for graphics card, DX8 cards are pretty cheap nowadays, around RM455, you can get 8600GT, at least make your investment future ready

Hmm.. IMHO, 8600 series is too weak to be much of any future investment. Unless they can get their drivers to deliver 3X more performance... it seems hard to put them through serious DX10 games. You CAN run DX10 games, but if it's not fast enough, what's the point?

Looks good. Although if you need more hard drive space and can afford it, go for 400GB. It's the most cost-effective drive right now, if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think you really need the C2D E6320. Use the money to upgrade the hard drive.

Why don't need the E6420? Cuz i plan this to use for about 4-5 years...

do you need that processing power?
are you going to utilize that processing power?
do you know what ADVANTAGE you get if you get an E6420 instead of E4300?

:) do think about it, if you're not going to utilize the additional firepower then you might as well not get it.

regardless what you buy, after 3 years they're medium / slow processors already.

yeah, i would stick with the E4300, get the 320gb hd, but most of all i would get a good psu to keep it all running ;)

Looks good. You can go and order the system now. :)

(Where's the screen anyway? Or you have it already?)

Eh, you are right. 320GB is the most cost-effective one, although 500GB is also pretty good. :thumb:
