    very cool pics. i remember seeing them as a kid in NY but i havent seen one in years.

    yeap. it was in the 70's. we could see them when we looked out over lake ontario when we were camping. doesnt happen anymore and did not happen very often. maybe once or twice.

    Yeah, but you can't see them like THAT unless you are in space. :mrgreen:

    i've doubts on how real that picture is after comparing it with other aurora pics taken by astronauts in the ISS, and i can't source it from any other sites =/

    FYI, the Borealis is occaisionally visible in the far south. Shanghai for instance for the northern hemisphere of Asia. The problem is light pollution, the man made lights of streets and cities are brighter than that of the borealis.

    Hmm.. It does look like a liquid Tiberium explosion. :haha: :haha:
