This card came along with board on sig. However I have a problem with it.The drivers that came with it will install and sound is enabled, but if I try to update drivers from Creative or MSI sites,I get a message"Sound device not found"

Are you saying MSI bundled the X-FI sound card with the motherboard?

I rarely use the 'auto update' features.

From the looks of it, it may be a custom version of the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio.

You can try Creative's drivers, though if it doesn't work then you would have to stick to the MSI drivers. Regardless, do not use the other X-Fi drivers as the Xtreme Audio does not use the EMU20K1/2 chipset.

Seems like the one MSI asks you to use is on the disc though.

While Creative sucks with their drivers, MSI is even worse and you maybe at their mercy if the above fails.
