i just bought a palit hd 4850 512 mb RAm GFX CARD
AND IT was working fine till i moved my pc to another room
now its showing white spots all over
i changed gfx card then they are gone, i switch to another monitor they are still there, so it means it has to do something with the card, what could be wrong

Seems like a common case of artifacts, make sure you get the latest drivers for everything etc.

Fault video card or maybe artifacting from heat, but since you were not doing any 3D intensive stuff, I would go with the faulty video card. Try it on another system if you can.

You mean the power from the wall socket is causing this, when the AC is turned on?

That's weird. Could it be a coincidence? Try doing it again and see if the artifacts go away.

hmm, unstable power flow in the room maybe?...maybe try the card in another pc to make sure.Don't think it's the PSU eh...if still cannot, send the card to the shop you got it or send it to me (as i got friend working in the distro department XD of Palit gpu :p) [provided you're from Malaysia]

FWIW.... I only have had this issue once. It turned out to be 2 things.

Make sure your outlet is properly grounded/phased.
    Heatsink must be properly mounted.:|

hmm, and 1 more thing..most likely the power in your room has some problems with it..better have a technician to check it out..does the white spots looks as if it's snowing?

    *update*
it was the power, i turn on my AC, the artifacts come back
i turn it off they go away, so i bought a cvt stabilizer for my PC, now no matter what i turn on the artifacts dont come back
