There Here Thereeeeeeee Hearrrrrrrrr!!! Who will be first? Newegg.com - LGA 1366, Processors - Desktops, CPUs / Processors, Computer Hardware
Trin? Wait, there's someone who's on a posting spree in bragging corner now might be the first one here to buy one
The Extreme Edition CPUs are never cheap. It's definitely more cost-effective to get the non-EE versions.
Well the prices here in Australia have dropped about $60 {i7 920}AUD, so here is hoping they drop some more.....
That cheap???? The official price for the i7-920 is USD 284. The Core i7-940 is officially priced at USD 562 while the i7-965 EE is going at a really hefty USD 999. All in quantities of 1000 units.
In malaysia exchange rate againts US are going up so it would be more expensive Eventhough the processors are made in Malaysia
Hehe.. They are not actually made here. We do not have a fab here. They just package some of the CPUs here.
OMG.. i saw the i7 in action yesterday at pc fair.. 8 logical processor? waaa.. running 6 HD movies simultaneously without any lag.. somemore the task manager show only 33% of processing load.. demo by intel malaysia.. they selling this setup for rm 3888 with a limited choice of casing although i prefer a built from ground up: Quad Core Intel Core i7 Processor 920 (2.66GHz | 4.8GT/s QPI | 8Mb L3 Cache) 2Gb (1 x 2Gb) DDR3 Memory DVD RW <--- should give blu ray ATI Radeon HD4650 512Mb DDR3 Onboard Intel High Definition 650W SevenTeam EPS 12V time to shop..
Yeah I didn't even bother going there. Why do you need to watch 6 HD movies at a time is beyond me...
its just to demo how powerful the processor are.. not to ask for u to watch 6 HD movies at a time.. hmm.. bout the codec i didn't ask coz to many ppl squeezing to watch 6 HD movies..
lol, seriously..who the heck will watch 5 hd movies 1 shot?even if it's a series or something, you get like 5 different output of sounds too..ooh, not to mention, codec is important also like Max mention (meh, such a detail freak )maybe i should try later with my rig XD...
It shows that an average PC user will not require that much processing power. I can't really think of a software that will fully utilise i7.
