No, I mean your cousin's husband... hahaha... Rooting is basically opening up the full admin rights (root in UNIX), so you are able to access to all file in the phone. Some very useful apps require root access like Titanium Backup. To install custom ROM, you will have to unlock the bootloader, which can be done via this site. Welcome to HTCdev This is actually an official HTC website to allow you to mod your phone. I'm not too sure about Samsung whether is it bootloader locked.
Ohh... he bought the HOX... that's why when I asked him whether I should get it, he said it's better for me to go for S3... Hmm... previous phone... you have a point, let me check... Hmm... does rooting void the warranty?
Yeah, because I want to know what is his reference to poor battery life. If he was not using smart phone, of course One X will seem to be very lousy to him. Root doesn't really void warranty because it is reversible. Unlocking the bootloader is a different matter. But if it is not due to the custom ROM like LCD problem, I think they will still honour the warranty.
Indeed it is. It's like moving from a world to another whole new world. Company phone I was told, the iPhone4. Yeah, I'll wait for your review while waiting for the S3, maybe. When are you getting the HOX?
aiyah didn't realize HTC One X has no MicroSD slot. I'm actually considering One V as my Desire Z replacement. Also another to consider is the Google Nexus.
Galaxy Nexus doesn't have Micro SD as well. I really don't understand what are these people thinking. That is one of the key advantage over iPhone and they are removing it. I hope Samsung continues to provide this option in future models. I'm getting a grey model because I sign corporate package Hopefully I will get it by tomorrow or next Monday.
Ohh... btw, my cousin's husband already updated his HOX's system software to 1.29 when he went to Barcelona recently... the release in Asia is still 1.28.
Google Nexus comes with 32GB already so it's more than enough for me. Just my preference to store downloaded stuff / pictures on the MicroSD. Recently upgraded my 2GB to 8GB. HTC One V has microSD expansion though.
Not the case for the new Galaxy S3 which comes up to 64GB. The problem is not just the storage, but the flexibility to expand storage if necessary (capacity will never be enough), transfer file from devices, and also to backup.Oh yea, forgot to mention that it can be used as a USB Mass Storage device, a big one.
You guys really need so much storage? If I didn't take a lot of videos with my iPhone 4S, I wouldn't even need more than 16 GB... right now, I have 5 GB left out of 32 GB.
Yeah... we need to copy movies, tv series, porns and mp3s in... need LOTSA space... I wonder if the telco sells S3-16GB when it's released here...
