I don't think it really matter on what the Camry (And any other car.) looks like, there are so many cars out there that are bound to have countless similarities (In a good way, but not like some of those Chinese-built cars.). Same thing happened when people said that the Euro-style Accord looked like a Mazda 6, when it doesn't even looks like one! It looks more like an evolution of the current Camry(Overall design) & the taillights looked liked they were inspired by those from the Camry Wagon/ Gracia & the 2005 Lexus LF-Sh Concept car (Pics below.). http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=oldandnewcamry0kz.jpg Japanese-spec Camry, Looks like a G-spec model, similar to a US-spec Camry XLE (Pics probably leaked from Dealer training kit.). http://www.auto-g.jp/image.html?f=news/200511/23/newcar01/01_b.jpg http://www.auto-g.jp/image.html?f=news/200511/23/newcar01/03_b.jpg http://www.auto-g.jp/image.html?f=news/200511/23/newcar01/02_b.jpg http://www.auto-g.jp/image.html?f=news/200511/23/newcar01/05_b.jpg http://www.auto-g.jp/news/200511/23/newcar02/index.html
The pics acedriver posted is the SE(US/ Canada)/ Touring(Japan)/ Sportivo(Australia) version. This version was introduced with the current (380N) Camry back in 2001 (Started with the Camry SE in the US) to attract younger 30 year old buyers. Btw, the Camry for ASEAN/ Taiwan markets will be different from the Japanese/ US/ Aussie Camries. but don't expect the HSD(Hybrid Synergy Drive) Camry to be available officially in ASEAN markets. Even if it will, don't expect it to be imported from Thailand. The costs will be too high for UMWT to set the right pricing (And there would be no point for UMWT to add it to their Malaysian lineup, since our government currently isn't planning to give tax breaks on Hybrid vehicles yet.).
I think the government should. Hybrid vehicles are the immediate future while we transition to better fuel sources. But I think they are aiming to promote the new biodiesel, the 5% mix, if I'm not mistaken.
