Took the wife to French Polynesia with camera mentioned here... Point & Shoot link I will start uploading pics as I sift through the 3000+ shots:
I'll try to put this in more of a chronological order... We woke @ 3:30am for 6:30am flight to LAX. Met some friends in LA for lunch during layover. Flight to French Polynesia left @ 4:00pm pacific time (6pm our time), arrived Papeete @ 9:30pm local time, (2:30am the next day our time) Tired but excited.
Day 1 - Tahiti / Moorea First night we stayed here:Google Maps Link Woke up in paradise and immediately went for walk with cameras in hand. Then to breakfast, a euro style buffet with fruits, cold cut meats, and lots of baked stuffs. Did manage for a little R&R in a hammock, but then back to the airport to begin our island hopping.
Day 2 - Cont'd The plane was tiny, 20 seats, but the flight was only 10 minutes. Managed to catch some local wildlife while waiting for the pilot. Water colours are incredible! Here's where we stayed the 2nd night:Google Maps - Moorea Had time for a quick swim and more testing of the S90 in its u/w housing. Then catch sunset and on to dinner.
Day 2 - Cont'd This IS paradise. It is like swimming in an aquarium. Wife took pic of me with u/w cam setup through glass panel in floor. Got some Tahitian beer after diving. Then sunset & entertainment + dinner.
Day 4 - I think Still in Moorea Looking back towards Mount Rotui from the pontoon Coconut plantation Assorted fish Vagabond Butterfly fish Moray Eel sticking out of the coral (Scared the CRAP outof me!)
Day 4 cont'd Moorea Some type of spineless sea urchin, spiny one in background GINORMOUS sea slug, big as my thigh Really fast camoflauge fish that would even sit on one another View accross the bungalows after sunset Relaxing after dinner
The first photo reminds me of the chalets in Port Dickson. Of course, the sea isn't as clear... IMHO, the camera + underwater kit was a great investment!
