So the suspension is that gas piston thing under the main frame?

How much did it cost you?

    Yup, it's called air shocks.

I spent RM3.5k on the frame and front suspension. Bought a few more 2nd hand parts to complete the built like the wheels. Total costs was around RM4.1k, but the drivetrain was migrated over.

Wow.. That's quite a lot of money. Carbon fibre frame?

Nope, full aluminium. Then you will be very surprised how much those high end bikes cost.

How many pounds do you figure she weighs? Sure would like to ride it! I've never rode a full suspension bike before.

About 28 pounds. Just slightly heavier than my wife's bike.

One of them is the trail with a tiny crossing and technical entrance and exit. I have heard of people falling into the stream here!

I bought some expensive tyres online (Continental Mountain King 2), and they were disappointing. After just 5 rides, many of the knobs went missing. So I bought a replacement tyre Kenda Nevegal, which is fantastic for my riding style.

Wow.. That must have been some hard riding you did, or the rubber is just too brittle.

Combination of both I guess. I never have problem with other tyres, and some of them have even softer compound.

    I think I'd pass that crossing...:hand:

I took a fall on some wet leaves, front tire went out from under me and I went right down. I think I broke a rib and my sholder still hurts months later... Sucks to get old.:|

I like my Maxxis tires. Check that brand out man.:)

Yeah, I bought Maxxis Crossmark for my wife's bike. It's a good cross country tyre with shallow threads, good for road surfaces too.

Wow...sounds like a bad fall. Happened recently?

Yeah, Just a simple turn and the next thing going down. I knew what was up and tried to dive off the bike but still fell right on top of it.

Did you wear any protection? Man, the Schumacher incident shows just how dangerous a fall can get.

    Shit happens... even with protection.

I usually ride with just helmet and glove...

Yeah, shit happens. Unfortunately, in his case, all his protection didn't count for much... :(

No protection at all. Elbow got skined good, fell on the bars. And the sharp pedals they got me too...
