malaysia loves you? a country will love anyone because you can make a difference in the country.. through economical ways, through population, etc... just think about it... if malaysia truely loves you... will you be have to go thru all the discomfort that this country has towards your race? mm.. Im being such a hippie.. haha... I like the sentence where he said that we learn about the islamic history in our form4 text book.. Dr. Mahathir said before that the malays are lazy or something like tat... they expect too much.. I know some malays are real hardworking and really kind and really honest... but there are some who will just take an advantage of things.. well who doesnt? since this is a malay country... malays are all out to conquer this country and we as other races have to comply with them... Ive received a few letters in friendster before from a malay complainning about we chinese staying in this country... from that letter you can see there are malays who just want everything and give nothing to other races... we live in a multi-racial country... but dont go thinkking that there is no racism.. oh hell yes there is... it is the racist that changed malaysia... just imagine... if the group of racist is malays... they can easily just change malaysia... tell UMNO somethings and bit by bit it becomes like this... sounds a wee bit like secondary school history tho.. nationalism.. hahaha!! but then again... we can do nothing towards it.. Onn Jaafar wanted to bring non-malays into UMNO but his wishes was rejected and he was sacked(or was he?).. then Dr. Mahathir did complain bout the performance of the malays... but nothing has happened but open more oppoturnities for other fellow malays.. ahh... it is like the sayying "an insult will cover a thousand compliments" or something like tat.. ahhaa!! just my views... but ofcourse dun get me wrong.. Im not a racist.. Im happy with the malays I know... hell.. they are once bunch of crazy and fun people...

Being impartial on this issue, I would be inclined to think the govenment's objective in helping out the Malays is noble, provided it worked out to whatever projections, calculated risks and due benefit.

Then again, there's the media, dissatisfied, selfish, narrow minded individuals with hidden agendas sensationalizing the failure bits of the concept. Imminent baseless rumor mongering and dissent amongst others adds fuel to the fire. Not to mention many unqualified individuals jumping on the bandwagon to take full advantage for personal benefit or gain.
The many evils and corrupt practices that slowly eat into the running concept, undermining the noble objective altogether till in most rakyat's view..uncontrollable,with little options at their disposal.

Every new ruling administration that comes into power would have to take upon the burden of the previous administration's mess or mistakes. It's a deep rooted complex issue where it tests the patience of many dissatisfied rakyat.
For the love of the country, I'd just hope & pray for a miracle that these problems can be resolved all in good time.

But wth... I like mad1.

Actually I can get along quite well with all races, it's just that when we chatted about politics, that's when things become more ermm... weird. Coz when some malays said they support PAS, I'll look at them differently. Hmm... Why huh?

    ROTFLMAO!!!!!! :haha:

I think I've always been impartial on race. I'm half malay and half chinese. My chinese side is a mix of malay, chinese, and indian. I grew up in the states and I have their values in this case. I'm not racist whatsoever. I mix with everyone. To me racism is just an extension of their own shortcoming. I do believe that the government is slanted. I believe that the education is slanted. I am a firm believer in equality. Both racial and gender equality. There is no such thing that anyone is specifically good in.

I believe the problem that exists is upbringing. Malaysians are socialized and taught these roles. The only way that we can get out of that is to have a different frame of mind and if you look around, things are changing. Our generation's beliefs aren't as segregated as the ones before us. Unfortunately, these things take time. It will take atleast 2-3 generations more IMO. The best we can do is to teach our children to have broader frame of mind instead of following mainstream thought.

hm..i know this is off-topic, but i read something in sociobiology that says that "racism" exists in most mamalian species..."racial" groups within a mamalian species tend to compete against each other..

hm..that means humans are born with racist tendencies..not because they are taught to be racists..

I will mix with any race as well, as long as they are not racists...

Nah. I believe it's socialization. Racism isn't an instinct. It's a value. The only way we hate is either through experience or through teaching. Thats what I think...

    ROTFL! True rojak! :haha:

OK.. time to disclose my unknown side. My 2 boys (now grown up) are 1/2 Chinese Baba and 1/2 Malay. So what race are they exactly?..I'll call them Malaysian..period!..
I'll fully agree with Psykhotik's broad mindset approach, as that's exactly what I've attempted to instill into my boys eversince.

Yeah. We're M'sians anyway. So what's all the segegration actually? We live together, and we want to have the same objective after all - peace and harmony. :D

I hope people will not adapt the philosophy: "All your Malaysia are belong to us..."
That's unhealthy if people think that way.... What did'ja think? :D
