This unit has Mfg date 0906---and it appears to be possibly the last unit of its kind [poor me] Aspire is in good working condition and have a dual boot [ XP & Ubuntu ] but unable to locate the Cmos battery----I want to format HHD but am unable to access the USB ports due to BIOS problems --- have tried all methods suggested -- keys F2--thu F12 in various combinations over an extended period My last attempt was removing the Keyboard--which incidentally has only one release point @ F8. Any one out there familiar with this beast !!! or any ideas as to location. All and any constructive comments appreciated Thank you
Have you seen the article Upgrading The Acer Aspire One? I'm not sure if it's the same model, but if you take a look at the last picture in Tech ARP - The Acer Aspire One Netbook Upgrade Guide and the first picture in Tech ARP - The Acer Aspire One Netbook Upgrade Guide, you will see the CMOS battery is located directly above the SODIMM slots. You will need to dismantle the netbook to get to it though.
