    Hi all,
I have an acer aspire 5738z laptop/notebook with a build in crystal eye webcam and Win 7 installed. I manage to get it going by going into 'All programs > crystaleye webcam > crystal eye'. I could see a clear image of myself on the screen centre but that's as far as I got.

How can I proceed further to chat to relatives in an other country? Do I have to install any software or is it part of windows 7 system. Can I test the system regarding volume, etc.. before using to ensure they will see and hear clearly?

Thanks for any help given. Kind regards.

You need to install software like Skype on both ends to start using the web cam.

Yeah, you just need to install a video chat software like Skype on both computers. Windows 7 doesn't come with any video chat software built-in.

Thanks guys. So I have to find out what software they have installed on the other end. Cause if I understood you right it must be same software on both ends.

That's right. The most common would be Skype or Yahoo! Messenger though.
