Guess what I just found inside my tutorial questions for my Standard ML Functional Programming lecture... *faints* My lecturer's sense of humour is amazing!
No you seriously don't want to do his assignments.. tutes are easy peasy, relatively... but his assignments are just real killers!
Heh, this lecturer's a nice lovable guy. He at least injects humour into an arcane subject.. I had a lecturer last year who wrote algorithms and functions in calculus and expected us to understand every single damn thing.. yes, calculus! And when you ask him to explain stuff, he just goes, "This is obvious." Needless to say, the poor tutors (5 of them in all) were the most wanted persons on earth that semester.
Crap, that reminds me of my lecture in Help inst. "Like that also don't understand? you pay college fee for what?!" That was freaking golden.
One of the Monash tutors once wrote in the newsgroups... "There's a reason why you're in your third year and this subject is taught in the third year too" When someone asked why was this particular subject (A study of compiler design, programming languages paradigms and implementations, and functional programming) is so difficult.. We're used to it though.
During my time in Help, there is a common saying among the students. "Money Talks, Bullshit Walks." Most of the lecturer are young and unexperience and can easily butter up for better grades.
