AMD, Gigabyte Release Source-Code for Mainboard’s BIOS

    Well, this is really not as great as it looks. It's just open source, meaning you can download it, modify it as you like. But can everyone modify it?

    Most people are not capable of reprogramming the BIOS, even if they have the source code. The most we can hope is for someone good to release a modified BIOS with all functions enabled.

    However, all that gives us is merely more BIOS settings to tweak. It doesn't confer the BIOS super-powers. We will still need to "work" on tweaking each setting to attain a stable and fast system.

    Very true. I once began to delve into graphics card BIOS editing. Once I realized it was too much effort for the little amount of reward you get over normally overclocking, I decided to stop. This probably is nothing big.
