Annoying nVidia message. How do I get rid of it?

I recently installed new nVidia drivers for my graphics card, version 91.something.

As a result every time I start the computer and log in I get a message "balloon" telling me SLI has been deactivated because there's only one graphics card. If I click the balloon I'm directed to a SLI web page.

The strange/stupid part is that I a) didn't ask for SLI activation to start with, b) don't have a motherboard that support SLI, and c) never had more than one graphics card to start with.

So, how do I permanently get rid of this annoying message?

All you need to do is....

Add another Video card!:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

J/K  I got sick of this too and went back to previous version of driver with out the bugging message.

It is even more odd that there is an SLI setup in the control panel that does NOTHING! :wall: :wall: :wall:

    nvidia notification

    HEre Everyone Try this

    1) Remove the "NvMediaCenter" reference from the startup "Run" sequence.

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    ;"NvMediaCenter"="RunDLL32.exe NvMCTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit"
    "NvMediaCenter"=-

    2) Remove the "NvCpl.dll" reference from the nVIDIA "MediaCenterTray" registry entry.

    ;[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\MediaCenterTray\NvCpl.dll]
    ;"FullPath"="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\NvCpl.dll"
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\MediaCenterTray\NvCpl.dll]

I'll just wait for nVidia to put it on there site. I reboot at most once a week, and even then I just shut it down so it's not too bad.

just go to those registry keys in regedit and it will get rid of that message. They are in HKEY local machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run and delete the keys then it will work
