ASUS invited a few hundred members of the media from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam and Myanmar to Jakarta, Indonesia for a 3-day media trip for the launch of the ASUS ZenFone 2 smartphone. They dubbed the event the ASUS ZenFone 2 "See What Others Can't See" event. Let's take a look at what went down during the event! These barcoded tags are our ticket to the event. No tag, no entry! They are apparently VERY STRICT about this. We have been warned that losing the tag would prevent us from entering the event proper. The many countries in South East Asia coming together for this Welcome Dinner. For some reason, the Singaporean contigent had their own launch separately and earlier... Almost a thousand people will be attending this Welcome Dinner! New ASUS product - the ASUS ZenKlung! For those who are not familiar with Indonesia, this is the Angklung, an Indonesian musical instrument. It may look primitive but the Indonesian angklung band at that dinner blew us away with their renditions of Indonesian jazz, modern pop songs, and even classics by the Beatles! As we left the grand ballroom, we noticed this - a preview for what's in store tomorrow...
