    Just a quick question.

I purchased a Athlon 1.0Ghz processor a few months ago (tray/non-boxed) that I've had no problems overclocking to 1.4 ghz. I have been quite happy with it and have liked the fact that it overclocked so well with standard cooling.

    What suprised me is that:

The multiplier is unlocked (were they with the 1.0ghz?)

The motherboard bios thinks it's a 1.2ghz chip whenever I reset it. (Abit KT7)

CPUID thinks that it is a Athlon mobile processor...

Just wondering if this is all normal, or did I get a different chip, or even one that the shop had unlocked?
Anyone have any ideas on what I've really purchased?

Hmm, that seems to be a pretty good overclock especially with stock cooling. Thermalright has some really good heatsinks for pretty cheap now. I have seen the slk-800 for $29.99, the sk-7 for $19 and the sk6+ for $9.99 all prices in US dollars and the Hopefully you could get a few hundred more mhz overclock on that chip as the stock heatsinks are not that great.
