The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) just announced a new danger to computer. According to JEITA, microscopic "zinc whiskers" float around in the air in "computer rooms which use galvanised zinc in their construction". These whiskers are a real danger because if they get into computer systems, they can cause short-circuits on printed circuit boards due to their conductive nature. For more information, you can check out the original warning message (in Japanese) or The Inquirer's article.
