With all the textbooks, exercise books, reference books students had to have nowadays, i doubt the students will have enough time to shift their bags to their front part of body when under attack.
IMHO, the safest thing to do is to adopt a virtual classroom. Everyone's safe in their own house, in front of a PC. Now, all the students have to worry about is their parents killing them... or they killing their own parents!
