Hmm.. LITE-ON? I don't think there's really a significant difference in DVD burners these days. They have become more or less a commodity.

im thinking pioneer..i love pioneer but no idea if anyone carry it over here..my pioneer dvd rom of 3 years old never ever given me any problem

I don't think Pioneer makes their own drive.

Right now, I believe it's the LG 20X or the Sony 18X.

but dun recommend me samsung..hated it..have no luck with samsung drives..bought few last time from dvd rom to cdrw all have ghost syndrom tray eject themself
Had that problem with ASUS cdrom. Damn scary! Got my fingers in there quite a few times!
Had to bear with it until I got the liteon cdrw.
I just bought a Liteon 16x SATA not too long ago. My system is finally legacy free!
