D-link, Tp-link, Cisco, Belkin..... which of these product brands would you go for, which of these do you trust?
Erm...I own all the products from the manufacturers that you have mentioned above. D-Link router, TP-Link switch, 2x Cisco routers, and a discarded Belkin. Sounds simple, but I have reasons why I choose those brands. Some are less critical, so brand doesn't matter that much in those cases.
Brand isn't really critical, but I would go with Cisco or Linksys for more "critical" devices like the router. When it comes to modem, any brand will work just fine, even TM's crappy modems. As for WiFi-N cards.. brand isn't as important as the model and chip used. For example, Dell manufactures a range of WiFi-N cards that range from extremely crappy (mine!!!) to pretty good (not mine!!!). Same goes for brands like D-Link, TP-Link, etc.
I would go for TP-Link. I have had great success with it as I am now using it for the past many years without any problem.
