can surf net but cannot use BT/YM/MSN/Steam

    I always thought the same disabling UPnP and SSDP Discovery services were the first 2 things I was told to disable in XP by me old M8 Louie666 ....

    Like I've said, UPnP can not be reached from the outside,
    neither the services nor the devices.
    Somehow you are right, it is "safer" to disable or set
    them to manually if you do not need them, like one should
    do with every unnecessary service.
    But there's no "risk" using 'em at all (except the situations
    I've mentioned before or, of course, viruses able to
    use exploits in it). ^^
    By using a UPnP-capable router there should be no prob
    anyway ...

    Even if the FBI is telling you to shut it down. *g* ^^

    Now that makes sense I was told that disabling those two services denied remote function calls by remote hosts like the "blaster worm" a few years ago. But I didn't have a router at that time did I ... hmmm .. some good points I have no need to enable those two services but thanks for the explanation :)

    hi is me again... i still facing this problem , now i know the problem is called " cannot access secure website"

    I reformated my computer recently and install windows XP (No SP2 cause cannot connect to download )
    I have turned off my windows Firewall completely
    I Scan my computer using AVG, no vrus
    I did not install any security software or any kind of firewall software
    I already port forward port 443( how to check it is port forwarded I dont know)

    I tried using Firefox and IE 6.0 , changing all the security option but still the same.
