ok i have a notebook running on a Celeron 1ghz.

it's a decent notebook until recently, performance has been really slow. for everything from even from bootup to just casual browser usage.

i suspect there's heatsink failure as anything that uses processing power for a constant period will guarantee it to shutdown eg - massive file transfers, file searches.

in air-cond. room it works better. :) pretty obvious isn't it?

so question - does Celeron 1ghz come with Thermal Throttling? since it's a Celeron around the age of early P4 i suspect is has and that's why i'm feeling the laggy performance.

    what do you guys think?

Celeron 1GHz? Should be based on P3, Tualatin. Thermal Throttling? Not too sure, it may have Speedstep.

Systems later than 97 can do throttling because they have thermal sensors and jumperless settings already.
