currently searching for it so the ati hd 3450 will allow me to play games? because i can get it with the dell one but it goes upto £416 cos i have to change the battery to 6 cell as well
you should be able run latest games in low to mid, just don't hope too much scoring around 1800 in 3dmarks 06
I've used the HD3200 - it can run quite some games, the speed is pretty much like the HD3450. Crysis - you can run but it's a slideshow, even lowest details is not impressive. other games like RTS (Sup Comm, C&C series blablaba) yeah you can play it at medium / low details.
i've decided, i'm going to stay away from gaming laptops - otherwise it might become too much of a distraction lol
lol even i knw that (and i'm a senior noob) EDIT: this is the laptop i'm seriously considering to buy this is the more detailed information provided on their website anything good or bad about it i should know??? it has HD screen/playback (but no bluray drive<--- i dnt really mind )
the compaq should do fine, just beware that it's 3kg ---------------------------------------------------------------------- if do consider refurbished notebook Acer 6935G *if you still haven't give up on gaming * ACER ASP6935G Laptop - Save on refurbished ACER laptops including the ACER ASP6935G at PC World PACKARD BELL LJ61RB110 PACKARD BELL LJ61RB110 Laptop - Save on refurbished PACKARD BELL laptops including the PACKARD BELL LJ61RB110 at PC World HEWLETT PACKARD DV5-1211 HEWLETT PACKARD DV5-1211 Laptop - Save on refurbished HEWLETT PACKARD laptops including the HEWLETT PACKARD DV5-1211 at PC World HP G70-120EA HP G70-120EA Laptop - Save on refurbished HP laptops including the HP G70-120EA at PC World ADVENT 5511 ADVENT 5511 Laptop - Save on refurbished ADVENT laptops including the ADVENT 5511 at PC World PACKARD BELL SL51-B470 PACKARD BELL SL51-B470 Laptop - Save on refurbished PACKARD BELL laptops including the PACKARD BELL SL51-B470 at PC World ACER 5738Z644G ACER 5738Z644G Laptop - Save on refurbished ACER laptops including the ACER 5738Z644G at PC World
wow u went thru all the trouble to search for me? thanks but the only thing second hand that works with me is video games everything else always seems to let me down so i always go for brand new. srry shud've told you this before you went and spent ur tym looking thru laaptops for me. srry and thanks btw i dnt think 3KG can be heavier than my sisters laptop i've been using lol EDIT: jus checked some of the lappys. the first acer seems really ... how should i say it ...' very tempting'. i might take up the anything happens cover. thanks for bringing that laptop to attention. now i jus gotta read up their T&C's on their aything happens cover and see whether its worth it btw does it have HD screen? can i use the finger print reader to make it boot up only if the fingerprint matches?
at least it is re-certified second hand its fine, choosing a laptop is always hard, its good to have other choices edit: fingerprints should only works for windows login. HD screen as in 1920x1080 resolution? the acer 6935g probably have 1366x768 considering the price
the whatever happens club sounds weird to me. they say the 28 days promised repair doesnt count for refurbished or preownded products and i get vouchers instead....... but then what happens to all my work and etc....???? i always hated the tehguys and they are closer to getting more hated lol the fingerprint thing seems really good. i wonder how accurate it would be at this price... EDIT: the whatever happens club doesn't cover thats the problem i'm most likely to come across roflmao
after reading the pdf, it is somekind extra warranty from pc world? edit: if its abuses, none of these laptop will be OK go for thinkpad/toughbook
feels like they're trying to sell you an afterservice which you will most likely never use lol and its cheaper to get warranty extensions for HP/acer/compaq from their sites from what i've seen (not sure about other manufacturers though)
wonder if refurbished can get extension warranty from manufacturer edit: well, to minimize loss data/work, always backup
Laptop Warranty Packs - Acer Direct looks like you can but look at their accidental damage cover plan, its cheaper and about wat i wrot above, the only falling i can imagine is wen i'm using the lappy and fall asleep and the laptop falls off the bed <---- that must surely count as accidental damage instead of misuse right?
wow, cheaper than techguys about accidental damage, that should be covered, but better double check with them, Acer.
Fingerprint is a useless feature. I stopped using it after awhile. It works, and it's accurate, but it's just useless, and it works for Windows login only.
i see. but imagine how cool it'd be if you could only open up your laptop (you knw lift the screen) only if your fingerprints matched. tht would've been a cool feature https://h40039.www4.hp.com/wtyext/newInformation.do this is compaq's aciidental cover, they include drops and spills EDIT: this is damn expensive though
