Uhhh, This disturbs me a lil' bit... http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTEwOCwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==
Honestly, reviews like these are quite useless. They are testing the CPUs at GPU bottleneck conditions, of course they are not going to show any CPU speed advantage. It's like saying why get A64 when AXP runs just as fast... Conroe is not really needed unless you have a powerful card, which is extremely valid especially if you are gamer. But the performance of the Conroe is more than just for playing games, like me, I want to use it for D2OL! Save power too!
Not quite "conroe" E6300... Allendale... Not bad???? http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2802
Sort of...these guys have really good "connections" to get engineering samples and various other pre-release hardware.
The E6700 Kentsfield is already out in the market... If you can dish out $600 bucks for it at the way the bloated market is. Supply and Demand at its very best. It happens when there is hype frenzy... :\
