Pocket-able MP3 players are becoming more popular by the day. Dell saw how big the market is for MP3 players and thus have jumped on the bandwagon with their very own Dell Pocket DJ.

Pitted to compete against Apple’s iPod mini, let’s join Psykhotik today in analyzing the Dell Pocket DJ to see if it has what it takes to bring on the reigning champion of MP3 players, the iPod mini.

    I want one!

    Great review PsY! :thumb:

    Got a few questions tho'...

    1. How much did you get it for?

    2. Did you test it when the storage was maxed-out? The lag factor might come into play in this case...

    3. Do you know if there any accessories available, such as a case or clip-on?

    4. Do tracks skip, say if the player was subjected to slight shocks or bumps? (Or used during exercise? :haha: )

    5. What's the difference between an Editor's Choice Award and a Reviewer's Choice Award?

I can answer some of them for you...
    1) he got it for free...he won it in a contest....

    3) yes there are accessories available...

    4) from my experience with mp3 based players....i have never heard them skip before...

it's usually not a good idea to exercise with a hdd-based mp3 player, you wouldnt pick up your computer and shake it around would you? :p

nice review, if i ever get a new mp3 player its down to either this or an iRiver

Thks for answering some of them hyper raider.. :thumb:
Dell does offer accessories. But these are some thats made by others. I bought a sorta case for it to protect it more. I tried shaking the mp3 player quite vigourously while I was listening to it and it didn't skip. Its actually fallen off my table and out of my pocket and its still working fine. Thats some pretty good suspension system... When it fell, I thought it was done for.. :|

The Dell Pocket DJ is availible from dell direct. It costs 199 USD.

I haven't maxed it out but its nearly 50% full. I don't have 5 gigs worth of songs .. :p
