because currently AMD doesn't have anything faster than Intel's p3.06B & 3.0ghz. no point for you to come out with something that is 10x faster than your competitor. You want to save your strength for when it's absolutely necessary.
There's no such thing as too fast. If that's the case, then don't upgrade your PC! Increasing the FSB alone, while maintaining the clockspeed increase performance. And you have to remember, it's not easy to jack up the clockspeed of the processor. Higher processor speed = Hotter, more power, more trouble for the manufacturer. And they have to invest more money to design smaller core.
The faster the better. We dont hav to worry about the temperature and power consumption, intel will hav a solution. now new core wit 0.09, even 3.5ghz also no problem lah. just like the FBS from 533 direct to 800. anything possible 8)
new core??? do you know that prescott (new 0.09core) will only be launched in the 4th quarter of 2003, and available in the first quarter of 2004?? that's still a long time to go
