    Motherboard : Biostar A780L
Graphics Card : GeForce GTS 250 (Zotac)
    Ram : 4 gigs

I have been trying to disable the on-board graphics for a while now but to no avail. I still have my ram shared at 3.25 gb. Any help would be kindly appreciated.

    Thanks

That has nothing to do with your on-board graphics. What OS are you using? 32-bit?

32-bit Windows XP wouldn't recognize 4 or more GB RAM, so it is limited to at least 3GB inside.

If you really need 4GB and above, the 64-bit operating systems will do.

    It has to be 64-bit.

Make sure you get the ones with the 64-bit.

You can try getting the Windows 7 (Home Premium edition) with 64-bit too. :thumb:

64 bit can utilize up to 128GB of RAM. :faint:

You can install any operating system, but for you to make use of more than 3+GB, you need a 64-bit operating system. Doesn't matter if it's Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, as long as it's 64-bit.
