Gigabyte to Release DDR-to-DDR2 Converter – Article!

    i saw the news as well, i wonder what's the use for this. I thought ddr2 is the future and should replace ddr1, why would we need convert ddr to ddr2.

    It's for a cheaper upgrade path. Now you only need to change the motherboard, CPU and graphics card. You can still make use of your DDR SDRAM modules.

    that's true. Although I guess it's only works if you ahve awesome killer memory. From what I have seen the value ddr2 has gotten to the point that hte price is even lower than some of the value ddr1. It's not worth to use these converter (not sure how much they are selling) if you can just use ddr2.
