Come on, man. We weren't making fun of him/her. We were just joking. It's just like how we always make fun of one another. Ok?
ok .. so .. hmm .. since my C:\ is partially fragmented .. & d:\ is totally fragmented j is 90% clean so i dediced to free up J:\\ defrag as much as possible .. then free up C:\ defrag as much as possible.. lastlt freeup D:\ defrag as much as possible
You guys so should be ashamed of yourselves! You come to this web site and only defrag you comp once a year?! I do it about once a month to both of my maxtors.
Btw, while we are on this subject checkout this program. http://www.oo-software.com/en/products/oodefrag/pro.html
defragging is for loosers. Burn that hard disk to a crisp and let it take a year to find stuff, thats my moto.
Imagint defrag time on the Seagate 400GB Here is mine....Diskkeeper of course... 88% of 80 Gig FREE... You guys just keep too much *ahem*
here is mine and my perfect disk.. when you said *ahem*, i remember the thread i read that someone called it the 'pink folder'.. i dont remember who..
pink folder belongs dash now he has a pink hard disk anyway .. i'm still having trouble defraging my D:\ 23% free space on the 76gb partition but .. wow .. its too fragmented to be defrag :wal:
wow. . look .. great improvement after defrag-ing the least fragment drives.. & move as much files from D:\ to them after 2 hours of continous defrag-ing this is the result...
i thinik its ok since it was like this earlier : http://forums.rojakpot.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9936 then i free up some space.. & left to by its own to continously defrag for bout 2 hours
Can't really vote since it's not like I have a defrag schedule... Basically whenever I create/delete large files, and/or when my sytem is running slow... Now that there's so little space left on my hard-disk, it's a real pain since I have to keep at least 15% free in order to run Windows Defragmenter... Well, IMO regular defragmenting would keep your file fragments nice and neat [organized?], and help keep future defragmenting times to a minimum... At least I like to think so... But then of course I could be wrong... Looks like you need an introduction to Dashken! Scroll down the page and you can see the pink folder for yourself!
Defrag Frequency I defrag my system disk (75 GB SATA Barracuda) twice daily and other disks when they are more than 5% fragmented. I use Perfect disk which reports what files are fragmented and this is valuable in pointing to junk and dump files often quite large. With the frequent defragmentation it only takes about 4 minutes running in the background. Makes a big performance improvement
It is recommened only ONCE hences the ONCE part? Once a Month. It doesn't need defragged more then that unless you like install Ofice, uninstall 3 games, reinstall office then install soemthing else, and maybe remove another programs and then go ahead and install somehting like adobe photoshop... then you shoudl defrag it after all that and count it as your monthly defrag. With NTFS, you don't need to defrag as much as you did with FAT16/32
