Looking for some suggestions on a new wireless router... all my laptops and 'puters only support wireless G atm. Currently have the D-Link DI-524 54mpbs wireless G and am looking to get some extra wireless coverage and strength throughout the house.

Any suggestions? Asus WL-520GU is the cheapest in Canada atm

You might want to consider WiFi routers that support the draft-N standard, for future-proofing.

Yeah, it's not standardized. That's why they call it Draft-N. But once it's standardized, you can update the router's firmware to support the final standard.

All Draft-N wireless routers should also support the standard WiFi-a/b/g.

Oh, that's good to hear. Any good wireless N routers? I've always been with D-Link, but I heard Linksys are pretty good.

Nope, I don't think even half can be flashed with custom.

It depends on the model. Some modems from other companies can also be flashed with custom firmware.

The Asus WL-520GU is one of them :thumb:
It's becoming quite popular here in Canada I believe because of that. It can even as a wireless repeater with the custom firmware!
