Heya guys, its been awhile since i last post here. So, to cut short of long story, I really need some expert recommendation in building RM3000 or below RIG/SU.

    Purpose of the RIG :
    1)Video encoding
    2)Photoshops
    3)Programming works
4)Multitask all above mention item and some other additional application.

    Preferable Intel based build.

P.S: Hopefully can complete the build list by December 1st

You don't need it to run 3D games, right?

Also, how important is video encoding? Do you intend to do a lot of video encoding, or just on and off?

Note : RM 3000 is roughly USD 860 for our other forumers.

casual gamer or more like 3D games are low priorities. Video encoding would be more regular/daily basis. Just need to build one SU that suit the previous mention needs for my friend

Get a fast dual core or quad core, depending on the multithreading capabilities of the video encoder. Big HDD space is also quite important for video encoding I suppose.

hmm, if me...Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550,4gb DDR2 1066 Gskill rams,640gb,4870 1gb version, Corsair TX750..hmmm, does your friend need LCD and the other important stuff?

Do you need LCD, speakers, keyboard mouse?

Using old hard disk, DVD ?

You might want to get him a decent video card as well, in the ranks of the ATI 4850, seeing as Adobe has added support for GPU acceleration.

Can you actually buy Gskill RAM here without getting it from LYN?

Not that I know off. But if really can be bought without getting it from LYN even better.

No keyboard, mouse, speaker nor lcd needed. Just the Rig. Well let me make it more simple. Just copy template below and fill in the recommendation you think is good setup for this need. So from there you probably know which/what hardware I'm looking for recommendation in order to build up RM3000+/- rig.

    Rig Setup:

    1)Motherboard:
    2)Processor:
    3)RAM:
    4)Graphic Card:
    5)PSU:
    6)Casing:
    7)HDD:

thanks for all your replies so far. Sorry for all the trouble. Since this is pretty new type of case for me to handle so I was thinking of making it the best for them.

    This is my recommendation

    1)Motherboard: Any P45 motherboard - RM500
    2)Processor: Q95500 - RM1150
    3)RAM: 4GB - RM170
    4)Graphic Card: 4650 class - RM250
    5)PSU: Corsair HX520 - RM385
    6)Casing:
    7)HDD: WD 640GB AAKS x 2 - RM460

Priority is processing power. I would consider getting more RAM if possible. Photoshop is really memory hungry.
