    Hello everyone!

I'm researching something on V-Link. I need your help in confirming my findings. If you can, please help me do this :

    Thanks!

I checked my (latest) BIOS and see entries as follows:

V-Link 8x Supported (Currently Enabled) -- I could disable if you wish to experiment.

V-Link Data 2x Support (Currently Disabled)

I will proceed if you wish, but am not sure about the mode selections in your instructions.

    Hello Elkdad,

In that case, just leave V-Link 8X Supported at Enabled. And just get me the V-Link status for V-Link Data 2X Support enabled and disabled.

    Thanks!!

You're going to have to be more specific as to where I can look at this status, or if Everest calls it something different. Thanks.

    Hello Elkdad,

Just click on Motherboard -> Motherboard. You should be able to see Bus Type : VIA V-Link. It's that screen.

    Thanks!

They both look the same to me.

Ah darn, I just realized that your motherboard supports only V-Link 8X. It doesn't support Ultra V-Link.

Does anyone here have a motherboard that supports Ultra V-Link?

    Thanks!

What motherboard do you need? The latest ones?

    Adrian,
I've got an Epox 9HDAI mobo with a VIA K8T800 Pro chipset.

On the V-link mode selection, I have the option to go from 4x to 8x but I don't seem to be able to find this V-Link Data 2x Support. Could it be under a different name. sorry, i'm a real NoOb!!

Sorry. I'll try harder next time. :)

Thanks for turning me on to the neat utility. I've been studying it.

All I need is a VIA motherboard that supports Ultra V-Link (1GB/s transfer rate between the north bridge and the south bridge).

The motherboard should also have the BIOS features of V-Link Mode Selection and V-Link Data 2X Support.

Some motherboards may come with V-Link 8X Support and V-Link Data 2X Support. They are useful too.

    Thanks!

    Hello Domster,

Would it be possible for you to get me a picture of the page with the V-Link options?

    Thanks!!

Hey, no fault of yours!!

In actual fact, they were useful in helping me confirm one part of the issue. Thanks!! :thumb:

    Adrian,
Don't know it this'll help. Dosen't seem to be a whole lotta options for V-Link in my BIOS.

I don't know how to take screenshots in BIOS so I just got out the Nokia.

I hope it helps. If you need more pics of me BIOS options, just ask.

i thought V-Link Data Rate stands for "Video-Link Data Rate"

    Hello Domster,

From what I can see, your chipset supports Ultra V-Link but the EPoX BIOS seems to allow only a maximum of V-Link 8X.

Could you help me verify this by running Everest and getting the screenshots of the V-Link properties with Vlink Data Rate set to 8X and 4X?

    Thanks!

Yup, looks like your motherboard's fixed to a maximum of V-Link 8X. Probably they didn't implement all 16 data lines.

How do you tell if they have implemented 16 lines?
