Nissan recalls more than 2.1 million vehicles worldwide - CNN.com
2.1 million cars! Ouch!
And it's affecting Tiida, 2 owners that I know visit this forum...
According to the local distributor, Edaran Tan Chong Motor, the recall doesn't affect the local models, not even the Nissan Latio (Tiida). Only some of the fully-imported Nissan March are affected :
Lucky!!!! Guess my car is safe.
No Fairlady Z in that list.... shew!
AFAIK, most Malaysian cars will never be affected by any recalls, not because we have better quality cars, but because most manufacturers use parts based on older (but in a way, proven) technology to save costs...
Yup, or they are built in Malaysia (cheaper parts).
Building locally isn't the problem per se. Look at the local BMWs - still very well made.
IMHO, it's when they slack on QC and build quality on locally assembled cars. That's when all the trouble starts.
