that's what i thought too.. until I called up the banks. You actually enough credit limit for the full charge in order to qualify for the installments. So, if 6K, that means 6k unspent credit limit minimum as well :)

Yeah.. it's time for the floppy to finally die off.. :haha:

But still, a floppy can be useful sometimes. There are many people who still use floppy disks.

Got my 700m few hours ago.

Here is some bad point first:

I saw dead pixel. Not the white one. But black one. What should I do? Will massage it make it go away? Should I ask Dell to come and take a look?

Does yours have dead pixel? Did you open whole screen black or whole screen white to check for it?

    Here some good point:
    1.I got the 40GB Hitachi 5400rpm 8MB hardisk

That's all I can think of now. Please help!!!

Well, if it's a dead pixel, there's nothing you can do about it.

I doubt Dell will exchange it for you...

Hmm.. Are you sure it's a 5400 RPM hard disk? Many 40GB notebook hard disks are 4200 RPM.

700m has the 5400 version .. but its not 8MB.. just standar 2MB..
only the 100gb version will have the 8MB cache

Umm.. Give it a try.

You could have a different experience. But at least be aware about the memory upgrade-warranty issue. ;)

Not really, since all BIOS utilities support Windows nowadays, no need to use DOS to flash anymore. Even hot flashing works.

    Ok, back to topic. :D

Sorry everyone. Actually the so called 'dead pixel' is actually a speck of dust. Hahaha....

Actually I check the hardisk number using some software. It shows that it is 5400rpm and its 8mb. I'll try to verify it again.

By the way, its not true that 100GB only have 8mb. 60GB also have. Hopefully, my 40GB also have. Muahahaha....

    Its confirm 8MB:

    Yup. I'm glad.

So now I'm totally happy with my purchase. To satisfy me is quite hard coz I'm a ***** when come to buying things. But, congratulation Dell. You just got yourself a satisfied customer:
    a)no dead pixel
    b)box is sealed
    c)5400rpm 8MB hardisk
d)on time delivery (said to be between 5pm to 6pm, and came at 5.30pm)
    e)good built quality
    f)3 years warranty

    Well done!
