Hmm.. My Toshiba M30 gets a little hot too, especially near the touch pad. I mentioned that in my review here - http://www.rojakpot.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=73 Actually, you should try getting yourself a good cooler like Jetart's Xcool series of notebook coolers. For example, the Xcool NP5000 (http://www.rojakpot.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=142) and Xcool NP3000 (http://www.rojakpot.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=132).
on my list of definate gets I will definately look into getting one of those, however I gotsta get me another mother board first...its dead What really bothers me about this is that its just 8 months past the warranty...would think that something that was included in my student loan would last longer than that....to the tune of 2300 dollars that I must pay no matter if this thing runs or not...I'm paying for a door stop
Here is an example: http://www.google.com.my/url?sa=U&s...es/1/170b5cg_00/170b5cg_00_pss_eng.pdf&e=9818 I hope they do it for notebook.
there have been people taking these units back because of cdrom issues and lcd display issues. The entire screen went black but everything else worked. when you started these machines they did post. Mine however doesnt even do that. you can hear a low hum from the fan motor and the cdrom does eject and spin...but thats it. and from what I have read online replacing the mb in these units also pose as yet another nightmare.
so can anyone confirm about the acer ram thing buy ram ourselve --> go get some authorised dude fix it? which cost around rm350(512RAM) or buy ram from acer --> go get the same authorised dude fix it? which cost around rm600(512RAM) coz i just upgraded my warranty .. and i wouldnt wanna void it like tat and i cant bear wit the current 256 i had on my 1682 WLMi
Hello peonking, What better confirmation do you require? We already posted a letter from Acer that confirms that warranty won't be voided if you get an Acer-authorized service center to install the modules for you.
okay.. then done.. then i shall get myself new ram modules and get those so-called authorised ppl to fix em for me.. (btw do they still charge on that ) heheheh
Hehe.. As for charges, well, that's another thing altogether. I have no idea if they will charge you for such a simple thing.. but you never know. If you do get it done, do let us know how it goes!
hahah sure.. if things gets worst probably can add some stories into ur notebook fiasco article... btw adrian (funny thou as if im calling my self) do u know wat brand of ram acer using ?? coz i not quite sure can mix ram like rojak or shud i get back the same brand ...
Hello peonking, AFAIK, Acer OEMs their memory modules. So, Acer RAM will have an Acer sticker. Don't worry about brand. Just get the same speed grade and you should be okay.
