Looking for the best in 3D graphics? Well, right now, nothing beats the NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX! Today, Team ARP takes a close look at the new NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX and see what makes it so special.. and so expensive! Link : NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX Graphics Card Review!
ROTFL! Then I will shift the decimal point of your reputation to the left. Hehe... Okay, back to topic!!
very nice review. Man, the card is just amazing. It seems like finally nvidia has gotten things straighten out. Although, they still need to work on their video/multimedia area.
I WANT IT!! ADRIAN. HOST A CONTEST NOW. HAHAHAHA... Gj on the review. Btw, i'm quite confuse with the memory speed, the memory bandwidth and the core speed. Can someone explain them?
Actually, I meant to say removing Adrian's rep points by 1, because that will become 666. He's a devil!
Think of a graphics card almost as a computer by itself. It has the GPU (graphics processing unit) and its own RAM. Just like your CPU speed (2GHz, etc.), the core speed refers to the frequency that the GPU runs at. And your system RAM has speeds like DDR400; it's exactly the same for graphics card RAM (that's the memory speed). Memory bandwidth refers to the amount of data that can...er... pass through the memory chips at any one time (hopefully someone can give you a better explanation). There is a formula to calculate memory bandwidth but it may be quite confusing.
There are only two speeds - GPU core speed and the memory speed. In the 7800 GTX, the GPU speed is 430MHz while the memory speed is 600MHz. Of course, since it's using GDDR3 memory, the effective speed is twice that (DDR). That's why we put it as 600MHz or 1.2GHz DDR.
