For sure. I just did a fresh install of SP3, so I'll post the SPECviewperf 10 results once I have them. EDIT: SPECvp10 uses 3DS max 3.1 and Maya 6.5 scenes for testing, so don't count on this bench for up to date results.

It works with the latest drivers, improves performance in most viewports, and leaves 3D performance at original speeds.
Hmm.. Never thought about SLI, but SLI support should be independent of the mod. If the Quadro driver supports SLI, then you will be able to run it on SLI.
I think you are seeing improvements in most viewports because according to the people in RivaTuner discussion forums, it only speeds up viewport acceleration. 3dsmax is the only software that they manage to get full acceleration with softmod. It's true. 8800GTS is a perfect Quadro now (3DSMAX9 ONLY!!!) - Guru3D.com Forums Still a nice mod, although it's not a fully functional quadro. You might want to update the article about this.
Going to update it. Even speeding up viewport acceleration is a nice free upgrade. We have to get Maya tested. Odd how they can get 3ds max to work but not Maya or the other software.
According to one of the posts, this is because NVIDIA implemented the hardlock on OpenGL but not on D3D yet, at least for now. This is why they manage to get full acceleration on 3dsmax since it is built on D3D.
NVIDIA GeForce To Quadro Soft-Mod Guide Rev. 2.0 The NVIDIA Quadro family of professional graphics cards are very, very expensive. But everyone knows that Quadro and GeForce graphics cards are virtually identical in hardware. Obviously, you cannot just use Quadro drivers with your GeForce graphics cards. However, there is an easy way to soft-mod (modify in software) an NVIDIA GeForce desktop graphics card into an NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics card. We will show you just how to do it in this guide. Not only that, we have also included what works with the soft-mod and the performance increase you can expect from it. Check them out!
