Optical drive DOS driver for ICH9 chipset

I'm facing problems with optical drive DOS driver for ICH8 like sbide.sys that doesn't work on ICH9 chipset. Another driver, stdcdd.exe driver is usable on ICH9 but that driver only detects the 1st media inserted, if I insert a 2nd media after that, it fails to refresh its content to read the 2nd media. :o

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Using gcdrom.sys should solved your issue

    I had personnally tested gcdrom.sys
It works in ICH8/9. It will detect not only the first media.

Let me know if you still have problem or you need further details.

By the way, I am from Penang too.

I think I remember trying this before. Just tried, didn't work. Maybe because it's PATA ODD? Hmm...

Well it should work on PATA optical disc drives...

Don't Intel have any DOS driver on their website?

    No problem with PATA ODD

I am usually PATA ODD no issue.
You have to check all your SATA/PATA controller, for my case I need to try to detect 3 times using gcdrom.sys.
It will be detected on the 3rd time.
(First 2 times is the SATA controller).

I am using a Gigabyte motherboard with G33/ICH9.
