Hi! I'm really new to overclocking and I wondered if anyone knew of a good guide to give me the basics. Thanks!
im gonna go out on a limb and say if you don't know what your doing then you shouldn't even bother. You are probably not even going to see any real world gains unless you have a hardcore overclockers mobo thats decked out with all kinds of options. I would just spend the money that you would have used on replacing destroyed parts on booze.
Look a few topics down, you'll find this http://forums.rojakpot.com/showthread.php?t=20417 Also use this to find out what setting is best (HTT, FSB, Mulitplier, etc) http://math.gogar.com/athlon64.cgi Just make sure you only raise your FSB by 5 or 10 Mhz at a time. FSB X CPU Multipler = Overall Mhz The AMD 3500+ is like this 200 X 11 = 2200Mhz Make sure to keep your HTT under 1000 FSB X HTT Multiplier = HTT I'm kind of a noob myself, so just read the article and google more guides, theres a lot out there. Make you learn about CMOS and jumpers in case of worse case scenario...
You alreayd have a fast CPU =/ anyway get some cooling stuff if you really wanna overclock just search any serch engine.. you will get what you need
LOL i didn`t realise it too it was this dude rcd412's fault btw i am sure buildcustompc has a brand new PC by now hehehe
