Practical dream car

Given within reason and real world budget of the average joe, what would your dream car be? I mean sure we all want Ferrari's, Bug's, Lambo's or whatever that tickles your fancy, but what abour practical exotics?

I'll start with mine. All I want if I could really get an AP (I know they're rarer then blue cheese on the moon), is a Lancia DElta Integrale Evoluzione. That was the car that really got me following FIA's ERC championship's when I was a kid. Watching Miki Biason going flat out in it was always exciting

The other one would be a BMW E30 M3. I know there are some hiding here in Malaysia

Practical and shall we say attainable?

Hehehe. I'm waiting for the Evolution X. Want to see just how much more its refined. Should be ~mid $30s range or so (Current Evo MRs are ~$33k).

One that I could hope to afford later on my career would be something like a C6 Corvette Z06 ($60k) or a Nissan GTR (~$75k). Given both are pretty costly but a lot more viable than Lambos or Ferraris so its a more realistic 'dream' car. :p

Yeah, forgot that term, attainable. Nice choice you got there psyk. But the Z06? You kidding right? That's like riding a wild bronco

If I wanted a smooth silky ride, I would get an old mans car. :p I like the sporty feel and tightness (like our G35's sport tuned Multi Link) of a car's handling. LOL! It's that which allows me to do 60mph on tight cloverleaf overpasses that are meant to be done at 25mph.

But the New (this year's) Z06 has reworked suspension (new shocks) that does wonders for the spine. So its a lot better now. Plus it is the best bargain out there that can outrun quite a few of the more 'prestigous' cars. Plus it has a lot of racing pedigree. 5 time back to back ALMS championships (beating off porsches and DB9Rs) speaks greatly for itself. Plus tell me any 7.0L V8 505hp motor that will cruise at 26mpg on the highway. :p And even that, one of such degree that you can get for in the 60s range. One of the few American cars I would actually buy. :p

I'm not worried about the ride. It's the damn power itself (Even before one stuff's Lingenfelter parts in). Loves to have a few tyres every now and then for snacks. But seriously, the best supercar any average joe can afford man and with handling to be able to cope with a lap around the old ring

Personally, I would be happy with a nicely tuned FF NA car. EKs, or even a Nissan with SR16VEs. :D

My slightly non-practical dream car would be one of those Japanese turbo charged cars, Evos, STI, GT-R.

If I get even more unpractical, it would be one of the Porsches! 911S, 9114S, GT3. Yes, they are all NAs.

I kinda like small cars so Golf GTi.

If I go slightly not practical, I'll just steal with my boss's Carrera 4s.

If I'm in dream state....:faint: :faint: :faint:

    Attainable dream car?

I will take a classic Volkswagen and spend a small fortune customizing the baby.

  12. Maybe not so practical but I'd like to get myself an E46 sedan and drop in an S54 engine and keep the, say, 320 badging on the rear.
