I was covering a swimming event on 18th July (Friday) and the participants were from Primary 1 to Primary 6.

So sorry la, don't expect Olympic quality swimmers. :) These are just kids having fun, most of them jump into the water with tummy hitting the water straight on. :p

The participants are pretty much lack of swimming skills across the board. Getting a nice shot isn't easy as most of their strokes are either badly timed or just look like some desperate struggle just to get it over with.

Generally I don't have much ground to play with, it's all about spotting the better swimmer and hope to get a nice shot before it's beyond composition point. :)

Anyway, here are my best for the day.

Hey, they are pretty good. Was it an indoor swimming pool?

BTW, what shutter speed did you use?

Outdoor swimming pool. lighting was tricky since it was morning and there was a mix of shadow and light.

shutter goes at 1/1000 and some 1/2000. ISO maintained at 400.

Ahhh.. Okay, so you use shutter priority, right? Nice freeze of the water. :thumb:

I was using Aperture Priority. :) I like the shots to maintain at f/4.
